Voice Skins

Voice skins are interchangeable voice identities that can be applied to a speaker, transforming how they sound while preserving what they say.^[1] Using voice conversion, a performer's delivery can be reshaped to match a different target voice in near real time, much as a visual skin changes a character's appearance.

In games and interactive media this lets a small number of performers voice many distinct characters, or lets players adopt a chosen voice. As with related techniques, responsible use depends on consent for any real voice that a skin is based on, and on transparency about when a voice has been transformed.^[2]
