Band Recording
Band recording captures a group of musicians playing together, often using multitrack techniques so that each instrument is recorded to its own track for independent control later.[1] Sessions may track the whole band live to preserve interaction and feel, or build the arrangement in layers, depending on the genre and the desired sound.
Capturing a band well requires managing spill between instruments, the timing and energy of a collective performance, and the acoustics of the tracking space. The resulting multitrack recording gives the mix engineer the freedom to balance, edit, and process each part while retaining the cohesion of the original ensemble.[2]
