Music Composition
Music composition is the craft of creating original music by inventing melody, harmony, rhythm, and form and then fixing those ideas in a notated score or a recorded arrangement.[1] For screen and interactive media the work is usually written to a brief or to picture, so choices about tempo, instrumentation, and structure are shaped by narrative timing and emotional intent rather than by abstract musical form alone.
A composer generally begins from reference material and develops themes or motifs that can recur and transform across a project, delivering work in stages from rough sketches to a finished orchestration. In contemporary production the boundary between composing and producing is often blurred, because many scores are realized with a mix of live players and virtual instruments before they are mixed and delivered.[2]
