UX Audio

UX audio is the design of functional sounds for interfaces and products, such as confirmations, alerts, and feedback cues that help people understand what a system is doing.[1] These short, purposeful sounds, sometimes called earcons, communicate state and guide interaction without requiring the user to look at a screen.

Good UX audio is consistent, unobtrusive, and meaningful, reinforcing a product's identity while avoiding fatigue or annoyance. As voice assistants, wearables, and connected devices spread, carefully designed interface sound has become an important part of how products feel and how usable they are.[2]
