Re-Recording Mixing
Re-recording mixing is the final stage of post production sound, where the separate dialogue, music, and effects tracks are combined into the finished soundtrack.[1] The re-recording mixer balances levels, applies equalization, dynamics, and reverberation, and shapes the whole so that every element is clear and the mix supports the picture.
The process also produces the various deliverables a project requires, from stereo to immersive multichannel masters, each conformed to the appropriate standards. Because it is the point where all the soundtrack's parts come together, the final mix is decisive in how polished and intentional the result feels.[2]
